Elora Gorge Engagement Session
It’s official, I love Elora Gorge and there’s nothing I would change about this engagement session! The weather couldn’t be any better and the timing of the light was just right. Getting to Elora Gorge from Toronto took about 1.5 hours, but the drive was totally worth it. Getting to the gorge itself was tricky. We had to ask 3 different groups and from one we got “wrong directions” from two girls. Despite having to go back and forth from our trail, we made it down and couldn’t have imagined it any better. It was a bit busy, but we made it work!
But more importantly, Lauren & Krishan made this engagement session so incredibly fun and easy! They were up for any challenge and were so willing and in good spirits throughout the whole session! They are a dream couple to work with! Additionally, while editing this engagement session I felt like I was getting closer to an editing style I’ve been dreaming up in my head. As photographers, we’re always growing and learning (like all artists should), and I felt like this engagement session really took me there. I don’t know if it’s because I was outdoors in an environment that was so inspiring, but there’s something about this session that took my style to the next level I’ve been yearning for a while!
Some tips for photographers & couples:
Trying to photograph while being about six months pregnant wasn’t easy – luckily I had my second shooter and my husband/assistant with carrying my bag and helping me hike. Get someone to help you if you are pregnant!
For couples wanting an outdoors shoot: be prepared for weather changes, be prepared to stay longer than anticipated, bring a towel, bring water, and be open minded! You may be asked to jump in the water for a very epic shoot!
